What To Serve With Boudin?

Boudin is the most delicious part of sausage. And it doesn’t matter if you purchase your boudin from the grocery store or at a butcher shop – it’s still going to taste great served alongside any of your choice’s foods!

To start, the best dishes to serve with sausages are saltines, cajun poutine, mushrooms, and tomato confit. These crunchy little squares are a great accompaniment to any kind of sausage. They’re salty enough to balance out the sweetness of the sausage, and they add a nice contrast to the smoky flavor of the meat.

For a fancier side dish option, try apple cranberry salad. Apple cranberry salads are usually composed of apples and cranberries tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. Try serving your boudin alongside this unique side dish recipe!

1. Baked Beans

This is a classic dish that everyone loves. It’s simple to prepare and has tons of flavor. You can serve it over toast, cornbread, or rice if you’d prefer. But, I love it straight up!

To start, soak your southern-style baked beans overnight. Then drain and rinse them thoroughly. Put them in a large pot along with the water and bring them to a boil. Once boiled, reduce the heat to low and simmer until tender, about 45 minutes. Drain and add the bacon, garlic, and seasonings. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove from the heat, cover, and let sit for 10 minutes. Pour the mixture into a baking dish, cover tightly with aluminum foil, and bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Let cool completely and store in airtight containers.

Stir well and season with salt and pepper to taste. Store leftover dressing in the fridge for up to three days.

2. Make Cookies

If you love baking, try making your cookie dough. Simply whisk together 4½ cups flour, ½ cup granulated sugar, and ½ cup brown sugar in a large bowl. Then stir in 1¾ teaspoons baking soda, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and ½ teaspoon kosher salt. Finally, add 1 stick of butter, softened, and 1 egg yolk. Using your hands, knead the mixture into a ball.

Wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll out the chilled dough onto parchment paper or a silicone mat. Cut shapes out of the dough with cookie cutters and place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden around the edges. Let cool completely before serving.

3. Make Cheese Straws

Cheese straws are perfect for snacking while watching movies or playing games. To make them, simply roll out a piece of puff pastry dough about ⅛ inch thick. Use a round cutter to cut circles out of the dough. Place the rounds on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until puffed and lightly browned. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Spread each circle with a thin layer of cheddar cheese. Return to the oven for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese melts and begins to bubble. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Serve warm or cold.

3. Classic Potato Salad

There’s nothing classic about this classic potato salad. It’s delicious though, so if you’ve ever wanted to try making it yourself, here’s your chance! Just mix everything up in a bowl and let sit for at least 30 minutes. Serve cold, garnished with fresh parsley.

Classic potato salads are great for entertaining or any time you want something special. This one is made with small red potatoes and has a slightly sweet flavor profile. I think it makes a nice change of pace compared to traditional mashed potatoes salads, which are usually made with russets and can be very heavy tasting.

Canadian cuisine features many regional dishes unique to each country. One of those regional dishes is called “poutine,” which originated in Canada but can now be found throughout North America. It consists of French fries covered in cheese curds and a savory gravy. The sauce varies depending on where the poutine is served, but most commonly includes either beef drippings (if served in Québec) or bacon fat (if served in Ontario).

Poutine is typically eaten during the fall months, although it can be enjoyed at any time of the year. However, if you want to enjoy it outside of the wintertime, try serving it with spicy pepper jelly for a kick. You can also include candied nuts, fruit, and even chocolate chips to give it a sweet touch and enjoy it with the flavors of boudin. There are different boudin varieties to take boudin breakfast.

5. Apple Cranberry Salad

This apple cranberry salad is a delicious side dish that goes well with any type of meat or chicken. You can make it ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for up to three days.


1/2 cup dried cranberries

3 apples, peeled, cored, and diced

4 tablespoons sugar

6. Cajun Remoulade Sauce

This tomato confit is one of my favorite recipes because it adds depth to dishes like boulangère sausage and chicken liver pâté. It’s also a great appetizer that will make your guests feel special. I love serving this alongside grilled cheese sandwiches and wine.

There are different ingredients in boudin sausages plain, you can try pasta with boudin, and rice with boudin, but keep your portion boudin separate. The inclusion of boudin will turn your traditional dish into a nutritious vegetable dish and a popular side dish with barbeque and many other great combinations of boudin.


1 pound tomatoes

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

9. Oven-roasted Cabbage

Roasting vegetables brings out their naturally sweet flavor. This recipe uses a simple technique to roast cabbage. You can use it to make a delicious side dish for a hearty dinner.


1 head of green cabbage

2 tablespoons olive oil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut off the bottom of the cabbage leaves. Remove the core. Place the cabbage leaves into a large bowl. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Toss well to coat evenly. Arrange the cabbage leaves onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20 minutes, turning halfway through cooking. Serve warm.

Mushrooms are one of those foods that you either love or hate. Some people don’t even know what to do with them. But grilling mushrooms brings out their natural flavor and transforms them into something special.

You’ll Need:

• Mushrooms

• Olive oil

1. Wash the mushrooms under cold running water. Remove stems and slice off the caps.

2. Brush olive oil over the mushroom slices. Season with salt and pepper.

3. Place the mushrooms on the grill pan and cook for about 5 minutes per side, turning once.

4. Serve immediately.

This recipe uses boudin which is made from ground beef seasoned with spices like cumin, chili powder, oregano, garlic powder, onion flakes, salt, black pepper, and bay leaves.

The ingredients are mixed and formed into small meatballs. Then, the mixture is placed in a large pot along with water, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and cornstarch. The mixture is cooked over medium heat for about 30 minutes. When it starts boiling, you know it’s ready. You can serve it with pasta or rice.
