How long does Taramasalata last in the fridge?

Taramasalata is a popular appetizer in Greece. It’s often served with bread or toast and can be whipped up quickly for last minute guests. However, how long does it keep?

The shelf life of this product will depend on how it was stored after opening – refrigerated products will last 3-5 days unopened and up to 7 days if opened but not consumed yet. If you open this product, please consume within 2-3 days for best results.

If you want to extend its shelf life, it should be stored in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed against the surface of the dip so that moisture does not get into it.

It can also be frozen and stored indefinitely, but we recommend eating it within a month or so of freezing to make sure that all of its flavors are still vibrant enough to enjoy after being defrosted. If you want to freeze taramasalata, just let it cool down before transferring it from its bowl into an airtight freezer-safe container.
